New Review Published!

If you follow me on Twitter, or if you’re a personal friend of mine on Facebook, then you already know about this; but if you don’t, I’ve recently published a new book review! The book is called Man Alive, by Patrick Morley. The basic gist for this book is that every man has seven basic, “primal” needs; they are:

1. To feel like you don’t have to do life alone.

2. To believe — really believe — that God loves and cars about you personally.

3. To understand how your life has a purpose, that your life is not random.

4. To break free from the destructive behaviors that keep dragging you down.

5. To satisfy your soul’s thirst for transcendence, awe, and communion.

6. To love and be loved without reservation.

7. To make a contribution and leave the world a better place.

What’s cool about this book is that 1) It tells how to fulfill those needs, and 2) He explains that it is not a merely outward, good works issue, but a heart and inner desires issue. While I do disagree with his belief in free will (which I tried to express objectively in my review, but was edited after I turned it in to Dr. Hensley) I still think this is a great book, especially for men who are suffering and broken.

Anyway, you can read the review at The Aboite Independent; you can find it in the “Features” section. Also, the review will be published in the Spring edition of Church Libraries Magazine in April, so if you get Church Libraries Magazine, look out for that!

In Christ,

-Scott
